Directions

The Law Library is on the second floor of Swen Parson Hall, which is located on the east side of Normal Road, across the street from Founders Library.

Driving directions to the Visitor's Lot:

From I-88 (traveling east or west):

  1. Take I-88 to the DeKalb "Annie Glidden Road" exit.
  2. Take Annie Glidden Road north to Lincoln Highway (IL-38).
  3. Turn right (east) on Lincoln Highway.
  4. Take Lincoln Highway east to Carroll Ave. (Pizza Hut on northwest corner).
  5. Turn left (north) on Carroll Ave.
  6. Continue on Carroll Ave. to the Visitor's Lot. The entrance to the lot will be on your left (west).

From I-39 (traveling north or south):

  1. Take I-39 to the IL-38 exit (east).
  2. Head east on IL-38 towards DeKalb. When IL-38 enters DeKalb it becomes Lincoln Highway.
  3. Take Lincoln Highway east to Carroll Ave. (Pizza Hut on northwest corner).
  4. Turn left (north) on Carroll Ave.
  5. Continue on Carroll Ave. to the Visitor's Lot. The entrance to the lot will be on your left (west).

From I-90 or IL-64 (traveling east):

  1. Take IL-47 south to IL-38.
  2. Turn right (west) on IL-38, towards DeKalb. When IL-38 enters DeKalb it becomes Lincoln Highway.
  3. Take Lincoln Highway through downtown DeKalb, continuing west to Carroll Ave. (Pizza Hut on northwest corner).
  4. Turn right (north) on Carroll Ave.
  5. Continue on Carroll Ave. to the Visitor's Lot. The entrance to the lot will be on your left (west).

Directions from the Visitor's Lot to Swen Parson Hall:

From the Visitor's Lot, go east one block to Normal Road (passing either north or south of Founder's Library). Swen Parson Hall is the stone building connected to the east side of Founders Library by a brown bridge. On the campus map (.pdf) Swen Parson Hall is building code "SP," number 48, just south of the Admissions Office.

Directions to the Law Library:

From Normal Road, look for the door into Swen Parson with the accessible ramp (door #25). Enter the door and turn right at the first hallway. Follow the blue "Elevator to the College of Law" signs, turning left at the next hallway. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor. After exiting the elevator make two left turns. The entrance to the Law Library will be on your left, across the hall from the Dean's Office.

From the east side of Swen Parson (the side facing Altgeld Hall & Lowden Hall), go up the external stairs and enter the building. You will be in the Marshall Gallery. Turn left (south) out of the Gallery. The entrance to the Law Library will be on your right, across the hall from the Dean's Office.
