Community Relations serves as the university's primary liaison to regional business and community leaders.
The department assesses the emerging educational, research and public service needs of the many communities served by NIU, and interacts with key business, industry, nonprofit and service organizations to monitor and build community support for university initiatives throughout the northern Illinois region.
